Let’s first take a look at the game itself, God of War is a mythology-based action-adventure video game franchise. Created by David Jaffe, debuted in 2005 on the PS2 gaming console, and has become a flagship title for the PS brand, it consists of eight games across multiple platforms. The story is about Kratos, a Spartan warrior who gets tricked into killing his wife and daughter by his former master, the Greek God of War Ares. Kratos seeks to rid himself of the nightmares by serving the other Olympian gods but soon finds himself in confrontation with them. Years after the destruction of ancient Greece, Kratos ends up in ancient Norway with a young son named Atreus. The two journeys throughout several realms to fulfill a promise to the boy’s recently deceased mother, indirectly making enemies of the Norse gods.
What is Chaos Flames?
Chaos Flames are items used to upgrade the Blades of Chaos in God Of War. It’s described as a small flame that has no source but burns in all directions. Like its counterpart, the Frozen Flame, it’s generated through mighty battles.
Frozen Flames are used to upgrades your axe but Chaos Flames are used to upgrade your Blades of Chaos that are powerful weapons. You are not able to collect Chaos Flames until you have progressed far enough through the story. Specific enemies or special encounters drop Chaos Flames.

when you defeat the Bridgekeeper boss the first time you visit Hel, you will find it.
Once inside Tyr’s Temple and you locate the Black Rune you are attacked by two giants. When you kill the giants you can collect it from the corpse of one of the giants.
When you come back to Hel for the second time, you will have to face traveler, if you miss this fight, you miss the third Chaos Flame, hence fight your way through the traveler and achieve the third one.
This is the final Chaos Flame, it can only be unlocked once the game is completed. You must unlock and complete the Muspelheim Arena. At the top of the arena is a Valkyrie. Once defeated the Valkyrie will drop a Raging Inferno of Muspelheim. You will have to trade the inferno of Muspelheim in the blacksmith’s resource buying tab with the Final Chaos Flame.
These conclude all the four locations of the chaos flames in the game and the first two are relatively easy to collect.
